Thanks!
Okay, so ages ago, I did the whole My Heritage celebrity face recognition thing. Every time I put in a picture of me, I got Kirsten Dunst. Now, I look nothing like Kirstin Dunst, but I could see how she came up as a match every time.
Just on a whim, I decided to try the website again (they now have a morphing maching) with new pics. I did it three times, just three times people, and got Who? None other than my fellow San Antonian Jared Padalecki as my #1, #2 and #3 matches.
Should I feel a little disconcerted? Nah. We actually do have slight similarities, but I wouldn't ever say we looked alike - like brother or sister or anything. But still, I thought that was just hilarious.
This is the fun part - just for shits and giggles, I put in the picture of me and Jared together and Jared got a 96% match to himself! (I didn't get a match to Jared here, but to Heather Locklear - and my name is Heather!) Followed by a 78% match for both Tom Welling and Halle Berry, followed by a 74% match to Ashton Kutcher. In the picture of Ashton, oddly enough, he's wearing a Holt Cat hat, exacly like the one that Jared wears. Peter Holt is San Antonio's owner of Holt Cat construction equipment and the San Antonio Spurs. He's a kabillionaire and a very nice man to boot. ;)
I know there's ways to post links and stuff, but seriously people, I just figured out how to friend. My day will come!

Okay, I was looking at a comment somewhere on LJ and I noticed someone mentioning friending back someone else. And I was like, 'huh?' I'm a complete idiot, thinking friending was automatic. Anyone who friended me, I went and friended them back, just now, because I'm a dumbass and didn't realize that I had to do that. Sorry everyone, please don't take my LJ ignorance personally, if you even remember doing it!
I wonder if anyone else feels as useless on this thing as I do? Well, I plan on using it more and hopefully I'll figure it out as I go!
Adios!
Two of my non-fangirl friends made the four hour drive up from San Antonio with me to see our man Jensen act his little heart out and I'm thinking now that they're pretty damn glad they did! I had this completely weird feeling that Jared was going to be there, though I thought he might have gone to opening night instead. Actually, I always feel like I'm going to meet Jared, as some of my friends have had multiple Jared sightings, one at Rudy's Bar-b-que, and the other tried to sell him a blender at William Sonoma, the other taught his proud cousins).
I digress. So. Jensen. A Few Good Men. He was simply amazing. At first, I felt like his movements were a bit choppy, he was obviously nervous, but he relaxed within moments and turned in to the sarcastic Daniel. (He entered the stage right by my chair, btw, and I was like...I can smell him!) Anyway, he had a few flubs, some that were harder to cover up than others, but he slid by them easily enough. I was seriously blown away by how wonderful he was - for a guy who hasn't done theater in over ten years - he was just great. I loved seeing him in uniform, he looked rather thin and he carried his mic pack in his back pocket, which made his butt a little funny shaped in his khakis. I'm not complaining, he was beautiful with the parted and slicked hair and clean shaven face. Oh...the baseball shirt, jeans and cap...yeah. Dress blues with his white tee...yeah. Yum. Whites - well, damn, yeah, fuck. Hot.
His two co-stars, the ones he shared just about every scene with, their names were Sam and Jo. I just couldn't get over that - he'd yell, "Sam!" and it sounded EXactly like Dean. (After intermission I kept looking at Jared when Daniel (Jensen) yelled to Sam or Jo). What a coincidence, anyway!
So, during intermission, my friends and I took off straight for the bathroom, where these two cute old ladies in front of me kept saying things like, "I just think he looks so familiar. Where have we seen him before?" I was squirming (for more reason that one) and just wanted butt right in and tell them everything about both Jensen and LDP. So, anyway, when we came out, I noticed a huge rush of girls, giggling and camera flashes, etc. I saw him from across the lobby, because he's HUGE. He had on a dark suit and I never did see this mystery cap, but he just looked BEAUTIFUL.
He was with Sandy, who looked equally beautiful, except, you know, small, dainty, skinny and well, girlie and perfect. And she had on this funky little outfit that was just so young and cute. She was smiling and seemed very sweet. He was also with his sister-in-law, whom he introduced to everyone who came to talk to him. My friends were getting drinks right next to him in line, so I walked up with them and I saw the fat, fat wad of cash he had in his hand, buying drinks, throwing at LEAST a $20 in the bartender's tip jar. He was herky-jerky, fast, just wanting to buy drinks, candy, etc. for his people. But very friendly.
Here's something SO COOL. While we were standing there, he either called, or got a call from JENSEN! I immideatly perked up, because I heard, "MAN! You're AWESOME! You're kicking ASS!" Then he said, something like, "I wanted to surprise you!" He was quiet for a second and said, "Of course! I wanted to be here to see you!" and then he mentioned something about all the lines Jensen had to learn. He must have told him three or four times that Jensen was doing awesome, great, wonderful, etc. He was VERY sweet and energetic and you could just TELL they have a wonderful friendship.
So, I backed up a little, but wanted to get a photo, so I let others get some pics, snapped a few (crappy) candid ones and listened and watched. Mr. Ackles came over to him, hugged him, they talked a little. I was a little too far away to hear their conversation, but Mr. Ackles went to get Mrs. Ackles and there were introductions (or re-introductions) of Mom, girlfriend, sis-in-law, etc. I think Danneel went up to him, but the conversation was pretty brief, but very friendly. I kind of didn't pay attention to her at all.
I was getting close to Jared, giving my friend with my camera pointed looks so she would know when to snap the picture, when one of the casa manana workers came up to him. I was standing right in front of him at this point. She asked him if he wanted her to move the fans away, get control of the situation, etc. He was so freaking NICE! He said, "No! No problem! I don't mind at all, don't worry about it!" Then he kind of looked at her wearily and asked, "How much time do we have left? Ten? Fifteen?" It was only about 5 and he looked a little harried and rushed about it, but smiled and turned to his fans.
I took the opportunity after someone else caught him and just said, "Do you mind if we take a picture, Jared?" He was all, "Sure!" Then he bent over, opened his arm out and said, "Get in there, put your arm in." So I did, of course! I asked him if he drove up from San Antonio today and he said, "Yeah, we did, actually." Then I asked him if he was going to go to any of the Finals games. (For those of you not in the know, he's a Spurs fan and the Spurs are in the NBA Championships...again!) He said that he would LOVE to, but the tickets are like fourteen hundred thousand dollars. Or something like that. He laughed and smiled and then someone else went in for the kill with an autograph.
And that was it! I was floating on cloud nine, just happy as a damn lark. Let me tell you, he was so incredibly sweet to everyone, INCLUDING his girlfriend, in the midst of all the people (girls) surrounding him, he touched her, smiled at her, ran his hands along her arms, etc. And he was very attentive to his sister-in-law, too. Also, I think Jensen's sister was with her parents, too. A girl looking quite a bit like Jensen's mom was sitting right next to Ma and Pa Ackles. They were all very proud, nice looking and just seemed like good people.
I kept looking to Jared, who was very quiet, sat low in his seat (different after intermission - closer and with the Ackles fam) and I could tell he was laughing and enjoying it all. He stood up at the end for Jensen, though we all did, and then Jensen and LDP made a short speech about the date being D-Day, which hadn't occured to me. We didn't stick around, I just felt to stalkerish to do that, but Jared kept right by the stage and wasn't moving when we left.
I must say that the acting all-around was quite wonderful in this play. It was done very well and I loved the cadence in between set change. Jensen has so much talent - just raw, pure talent and that man can do anything - he's got perfect comedic timing, which we already knew as Dean, but on stage, he doesn't have the benifit of editing or extra takes and he still just breezed through it. His super-powerful 'You can't handle the truth - I can handle it' scene was just - wow. I looked at him closely and he was red, sweaty, veins pulsing - he just NAILED it. Couldn't be more complimentary, he was was great.
One more thing... I didn't think I'd find it so arousing as it was when I heard him say, "Sam, fuck you." Wow. Yeah. He said fuck a few times and it gave me a little uh...warm goodness feeling when he did. Yeah. I know. Yeah.
So I'm debating whether or not to post the only GOOD pic I have of him, because, well, it's with me. The others are less than stellar, and yeah, I can post them, but he looks best in the pic where I look the worst and well...yeah, my face out there? Not sure. But damn it's a hot pic of him. I'm pooped, but I'll put the few crappy pics I have of him on later.
Sorry for the wordiness, but I had a lot to say. Soaked in quite a bit, eh? Oh, and it's my birthday! Happy Birthday to ME!

So, for the second time in three weeks, Supernatural has been preempted by baseball. WTF? The first time (Hollywood Babylon) they didn't even bother to repeat it in my area. Never freaking saw it. *sigh* Tonight, an episode I was so STOKED about - well, 11:00pm. So, my trusty handy dandy DVR says it'll record it for me. And I'm like YAY! I'll watch after Golden State spanks the Mavs down hard. Except, baseball must have run long, which means Smallville ran long, which means... I missed the end of Supernatural! And I curse the CW, baseball and DVR tonight!! Sonofabitch! I missed previews, too. Wanna see Sammy in Dean's arms. If they do this to me again next week...God help us all is all I'm sayin.

So I'm one of those people, every time I go somewhere, I see someone and say, "Oh, he/she looks exactly like..." and fill in the blank. Last year, I went to an Old 97's concert (if you haven't heard them, then OMG what are you waiting for??) in Austin and watching Rhett Miller perform reminded me so much of Jared Padalecki. Granted, I was pretty far back, but something about the body shape, the hair, the exhuberance, the smile and charm just really made me think of Jared Padalecki during the whole concert.
I got to see them again this weekend and I got a much closer look at Rhett. And while he is ALL kinds of pretty, he reminded me more of Fabricio Oberto, who plays for the San Antonio Spurs. He still gave me all kinds of Jared thoughts. I've never seen Rhett interviewed (though on stage twice and the big screen once - see The Break Up) but I've seen Jared talking and moving like a hyperactive puppy and that is SO Rhett Miller. I tried to get some pics where they all looked similar, but there's not many Rhett Miller pics out there to work with. I think it's in the smile, though...
